The Wahab-Toyeba Memorial Hospital, established at Datterbag under Khilpara union of Chatkhil upazila in Noakhali district is awaiting the much hoped inauguration by the Speaker of Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad (parliament) which is scheduled to be held on May 9.
Member of Parliament (Noakhali-1) HM Ibrahim and his brother, former Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong Mohammad Hasan established the hospital for facilitating the medicare to the less fortunate section of the locality.
Mohammad Hasan informed this correspondent that the hospital, built on 80 decimals of land totally from their own funding with 50 beds in a four-story building, costing Tk 10 crore, will have all the facilities of treatment.
Director of the hospital, industrialist and MP HM Ibrahim informed that the hospital will serve the patients with a very low cost and it will get all the facilities for treating any serious patients also.
The aim and objective of establishing the hospital is mainly to save the ailing people of Khilpara, Ramnarayanpur, Noakhola and the adjacent areas for saving the from any untimely ending, he added.
On Saturday, May 9, Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury will inaugurate the hospital at 11am. The hospital is decorated with a 100 plus manpower set, informed the concerned source.
State Minister for Health Zahid Malek MP and personal secretary to the PM, joint general secretary of the central Awami League Sub-Committee Md Zahangir Alam are scheduled to be present at the hospital opening program.
In the afternoon on the day the Speaker will be accorded a grand reception on the ground of Khilpara High School. Upazila administration and police took wide range preparation for keeping everything all right. –Our Correspondent
