PM hands over cricket trophies to Bangladesh team

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina handed over trophies of Dan Cake One-Day International (ODI) Series and Dan Cake T20 Series to the Bangladesh national cricket team which clinched both the crowns by crushing touring Pakistan side.
Sheikh Hasina handed over the two trophies to Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortuza amid thunderous clapping of thousands of cricket fans at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, know as Bangladesh’s home of cricket, tonight.
The cricket-lover Prime Minister first handed over the Dan Cake T20 Series Trophy and later the Dan Cake ODI Series Trophy to Mashrafe.
Cheerful Sheikh Hasina later had photo with the players and coaches of the proud Bangladesh team.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Nazmul Hasan Papon and other officials of the cricket board were present on the occasion.
Earlier, the Prime Minister celebrated the Bangladesh team’s T20 series victory against Pakistan by watching the match from the stadium.
Just after the winning boundary by Bangladeshi ace batsman, Shakib Al Hasan, Sheikh Hasina stood from the seat and congratulated the players and crowds of the stadium by waiving the national flag.
Sheikh Hasina, an avid cricket fan, entered the stadium around 7 pm just after Pakistan took the field to bat after winning the toss against Bangladesh.
The sports-loving Premier enjoyed the match sitting from President Box of the stadium. Extra delight was seen among the crowds at the big bowl when the PM was seen on the stadium’s giant TV screen.
BCB President Nazmul Hasan Papon was also seen enjoying the match sitting beside the Prime Minister.
On April 19, Sheikh Hasina also enjoyed the Bangladesh-Pakistan 2nd ODI match from Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. The Tigers swept the ODI series against Pakistan 3-0.
