Information Minister of Bangladesh, Hasanul Haq Inu has said, Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) and Russian News Agency ITAR-TASS would soon increase cooperation between them.
The minister informed this media after a meeting with Russian Ambassador to Bangladesh Alexander Nikolaev at his Secretariat office in Dhaka on Tuesday, says a PID handout.
Hasanul Haq Inu said, we on principle agreed to the Russian proposal for signing a Memorandum of Understanding between the two government news agencies. It will lead both the countries to step ahead in the era of free flow of information, he added.
The Ministry of Information of Bangladesh Government and Ministry of Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation Government would work together for drafting the accord, the Minister informed.
The Information Minister and the Russian Ambassador also discussed possible areas of cooperation in the social and cultural sectors, which would enhance the people to people relations between the two countries having a long history of friendship since the erstwhile Soviet Union’s historic support to Bangladesh in the 1971 War of Freedom. – Staff Reporter (Photo: PID)
