Abductors kill school student for ransom

On the other hand, A team of Sudharam thana police led by Inspector (Investigation) Md Nizam Uddin conducted a drive on the second floor of East Maijchara Suja Mia Govt Primary School and arrested Zahangir and Rasel. At the press conference Noakhali Police Super Md Iliyas Sharif informed that the wide ranging drive to nab the criminals will be continuing throughout the district. ASP SM Ashrafuzzaman, ASP Sikder Md Hasan Imam, OC of Sonaimuri PS Kazi Hanif-ul Islam, Sadar Police Inspector Nizam Uddin, journalists from print and electronic media were present at the press conference.
Begumganj Circle ASP and Sudharam Police Inspector were awarded Tk 10 thousand each for their courageous role in nabbing the criminals, the police sources added.
Another report says: Ibrahim Khalil Masum (11), a student of Class-V of Kalikapur Zakia Memorial Academy, son of Saudi expatriate Abdul Kader of Jagjibanpur village under Nadona union of Sonaimuru upazila was killed by alleged abductors when they failed to get the ransom they demanded.
Police arrested 2 abductors and recovered the body of the boy after 20 days of his abduction from under the ground.
After abduction Sakib, son of Sahabuddin of Moutubi village under Bazra union and Osman Gani, son of Ismail Hossain of Jagjibanpur village of Nadona union of Sonaimuri upazila demanded Tk 6 lakh as ransom to free the boy.
After becoming unsuccessful to get the money they killed Masum and put the body under the ground.
Police recovered the body and trying to arrested other killers also. –Our Correspondent
