Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia in the afternoon (Tuesday) on a three-day official visit at the invitation of her Malaysian counterpart Mohammad Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak. A VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying her and members of her entourage landed at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) at 3:55pm local time. Malaysian Deputy Minister of Human Resources Haji Ismail Haji Abdul Muttalib and Bangladesh High Commissioner to Malaysia AKM Atiqur Rahman received the prime minister at the airport. After arrival at the airport, Sheikh Hasina was given a static guard of honour by the Malaysian armed forces. Later, she was taken to Hotel Grand Hyatt through a ceremonial motorcade where she will be staying during the visit. Earlier, the prime minister left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 10:15am for Kuala Lumpur. Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, Cabinet Secretary M Musharraf Hussain Bhuiyan, the chiefs of the three services, the dean of the diplomatic corps and high civil and military officials were present at the airport to see her off. Sheikh Hasina will meet the Bangladesh community members at Hotel Grand Hyatt here in the evening Tuesday. On Wednesday, the prime minister will attend a dialogue on Investment and Trade Opportunities in Bangladesh at Grand Hyatt Ball Room. Business leaders of Bangladesh and Malaysia will join the meeting. Sheikh Hasina will hold bilateral talks with her Malaysian counterpart at Malaysian Prime Minister’s Office at Perdana Square at Putrajaya in the afternoon. After the bilateral meeting, the prime minister will witness signing ceremony of four instruments with Malaysia. In the evening, she will join an official dinner to be hosted by the Malaysian PM in honour of Bangladesh Prime Minister.
