Certificates given to police officers after 2-week FBI training

The certificate awarding ceremony of a 2-week-long training course titled ‘Major Case Management’ was held at International Conference Centre of Bangladesh Police Staff College in the capital city Dhaka on October 28, 2014. The training course was organized in cooperation with the US Embassy in Dhaka, patronized by Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of USA.
Ambassador of United States of Bangladesh in Dhaka, Dan W Mozena, attended the function as the chief guest and distributed certificates among the participants.
Rector of Police Staff College Fatema Begum presided over the function.
Daniel C Clegg, Legal Attache, US Embassy, New Delhi; Additional DIG of Police Headquarters Feroz Al Mujahid Khan and Md Golam Rasul of Police Staff College were the special guests of the function.
Officers of the US Embassy, faculty members of the Police Staff College and high officials of the police department were present at the certificate awarding function.
In all, 27 personnel of different ranks of the police department took part in the training course, says a PHQ media release.
ASP of PBI, Dhaka—Md Iqbal Hossain—spoke on behalf of the participants. He described various important aspects of the training course and thanked FBI and US Embassy for cooperation in holding such a course.
Such training will enable the police officers in skillfully performing the responsibility of maintaining law and order, checking terrorism, proper investigation, facing white collar crime, transnational crime, money laundering etc, said Dan W Mozena while delivering his speech as the chief guest.
He thanked the participants for their devotion they offered in taking part in the training course. He also thanked Bangladesh government, Home Ministry, Police Headquarters and Police Staff College for organizing the training course.
Mozena also described the memory of his visit to 64 districts of Bangladesh on different occasions and he praised Bangladesh people for their friendly and good mentality. Mentioning the excellent bilateral relations of USA and Bangladesh, he expressed his high hope about the prosperity of Bangladesh.
Special guest Daniel C Clegg said: As the crime pattern of this region is nearly similar, so, such training offered by the FBI will help the participants in working at the grassroots level.
Feroz Al Mujahid Khan thanked the Police Staff College and the US Embassy for arranging the training course. Md Golam Rasul of Police Staff College narrated how the training course will help police personnel in the practical field. He also thanked the organizers of the training course.
In her presidential speech, Rector of Police Staff College Fatema Bagum laid utmost importance on the bilateral cooperation between USA and Bangladesh.
